Why are some spyware deleted and others quarantined?

I would normally ask customer support but the web form goes on for ever and the call charges are a bit on the steep side. Anyway, the anti-virus deleted 4 tracking cookies, namely Sdrevolver, Xiti, Webtrends, and Atwola, but quarantined Zanox. Can anyone explain why Zanox is quarantined? Frankly, I would rather it was deleted; the (irrational) thought of it lurking around the PC doesn’t appeal as much as it being zapped full in the face with the D word.

Most of the time antivirus software follows specific rules when dealing with removal of files

It usually goes like this

>Repair/Heal
>Delete
>Quarantine
>Sometimes Delete on next boot
>Do nothing

Basically if it cant repair or delete, mainly because the file is in use in some way or locked, then it will quarantine it. Sometimes it will try to delete on next boot, but that doesnt always work, so quarantine is the better option to make sure it doesn’t cause any trouble

:D
