What is this icon on my desktop?

This is on XP. I should also note that I’m sure this is not from some sort of spyware as it is something that’s installed on all computers at work, I just have no idea what it is. I like to keep my desktop clear of icons, but this is the stubborn one that won’t die.

If it’s a shortcut, you can right click it, click Properties and click Find Target. It’ll take you to whatever program it links to. Then right click that file and click Properties. Click the Version tab; in there is usually enough information about the maker of the program that you can find out what it relates to. If it’s a work computer I wouldn’t be deleting things though!
