How do I delete this read only file folder from my desktop?

I’m about ready to grab my monitor and bludgeon my skull in with it, this file is driving me insane and I haven’t found the answer to my problem yet. Here’s what I’ve done:

Booted up in safe mode and tried to delete it- didn’t work
went into properties and unchecked the read only box- didn’t work
I can’t use Unlocker, because it isn’t Vista 64 compatible
It isn’t spyware, it’s a file I created by naming a blank folder Alt+255.

Please no stupid answers, someone give me a vista 64 compatible program, or teach me how to eliminate it through windows, as the folder itself shows it has no name and is therefore difficult, if not impossible to find with a dos command prompt.
Please READ THE QUESTION before answering!

I was able to recreate this issue, the only way I successfully got rid of the file (which resisted renaming and all shell commands), was to drag the file into the Recycle Bin on the desktop, then empty the Recycle Bin. Caveat: This was on Vista Ultimate 32bit.
