PC antispyware 2010! ARGH!!!?
this morning i woke up and realised my laptop has some how contracted the PC antispyware 2010 malware.
Ive tried Malware bytes, turned off system restore, updating, run in safe mode etc etc etc and i cant seem to get rid of it.
running XP, I use AVG free for security, and ive got this your computer is infected! message coming from the task bar all the time. i seem to have uninstalled successfully the actual PC antispyware 2010 (there was an icon and now its gone) but there is still this annoying thing telling me spyware is on the computer and AVG keeps coming up with alerts. from what i have learnt this is just harmless imitation spyware created by the malware to make me buy there software.
help!
EDIT: will reinstalling windows help?
PC Antispyware 2010 is a fake anti-spyware software and it has to be removed. Reinstalling windows is the cure from all diseases, but it’s a big job, its easier to remove this threat from your computer.
