Total Security is a malware / spyware program I am infected with. How do I get rid of it ?

I was surfing when this message came up saying I have been infected. A scan starts, locking up my computer. I was able to google this total security from another computer. It appears it is a bad program. I am looking to remove it. It has taken over my system. I use XP.
