How to get rid of a file?

I got an hp mini not too long and I have a problem with it. I recently found a folder in my main hard drive. I looked into it and it is a proxy code for spyware. It has the file extesion (dll) and is locked. I ran into this problem in my deskop computer also and i was able to delete it from there with the creative element power tools application. I have a virus on my hp mini; it is the rogue “antivirus” Total security 2009. I quickly found that it was a fake and i am trying to get another program on there but it wont let me. Total security 2009 wont let me open any programs or go into safe mode. The locked files are not deletable manually, you have to use the program to delete them but i cant open it. I cannot do a system recovery because my laptop does not have a cd drive. What can I do? I’ve been researching alot on it but have not found a solution.

Since it will not let you open any programs, I would suggest going to http://bleepingcomputer.com and run a HJT. This guys are good and will tell you how to remove it in your case.

Sometimes a reformat and reinstall is the best and quickest solution
