Computer Trouble.?

I have some kind of virus on my computer. On the top of my internet window there is a little link that says “possible spyware or Adware infection! click here to scan for spyware”, but when I click it it just sends me to a link to buy software. My computer is going really slow, a lot slower than usual and when I try to get on the internet, it’s a long and tedious battle. I don’t know what it is or what to do, but I know my computer just isn’t acting the same.
According to my McAfee software, everythings just find and dandy. It didn’t pick up any spyware. That’s where I’m confused. Please help.
