How do I completely remove WinAntivirus?
I was able to get rid of the process and most of the registries, but it still isn’t completely gone. It won’t let me load any of the anti-spyware/anti-malware programs I have (Spy Sweeper, Malwarebyte’s Anti-Malware, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and Spybot Search and Destroy). It also won’t let me back up any of my files using the Maxtor OneTouch III program or restore my settings. It’s making my computer so slow. I really didn’t want to get it wiped. Does anyone have any ideas?
You need to rename the Malwarebytes executable file. Go to Start then Search. Type in the following in the search box “mbam.exe” Right click and rename the program to something else like “1mbam.exe” after that reboot your computer, do not just log off user but totally reboot the computer. When you are back at your desktop go back to search and search for the new name we gave that file, ie “1mbam.exe” and then double click on that file. Malwarebytes should run now and clean your system.
