Is there any anti spyware freeware that will continuously scan your PC?

I have AVG anti spyware but unless you pay the resident shield cuts off after a certain lenght of time I need software (for free) that won’t stop continuously scanning.

If you want antispyware protection that runs in the background, you can use one the following, Spybot Search and Destroy, spyware terminator, Windows Defender, ThreatFire, and avast! home edition. All of them runs in the background and scans your computer for possible spyware and malware….

avast! home edition has antispyware as opposed what others say…a-squared antimalware is not free, but if you want to use its scanner for free, you can have a-squared free instead, but it doesn’t have a background scanner…
