How do I remove the annoying icon on my taskbar telling me I have spyware?
I recently had spyware and I used almost all programs. SpyBot Search & Destroy, AVG anti-spyware etc. The products claim that there no more infections on my computer, but the annoying pop icon on the right side of the toolbar keeps telling me that I have the software spies and should install a lot of things! What can I do to get rid of this without paying anything? Thank you (I have windows XP) I can not go to add / delete programs because I do not know the name of the file is, I've looked forever. And i cannot cliack right hand on the question icon opens a page telling me what must buy.
As you said, if you have any messages, so it does not get rid of spyware. For reference future, the two products to get rid of most spyware, Adware, but re-downloaded. Next time, run your anti-spyware in "safe mode" without Internet Connection. I would download and install SUPERAntiSpyware superantispyware.com. Updated definitions and run a full scan of spyware. Super will tell you to reboot the system after you remove the malware. If it does not, then Super restart in safe mode. FYI, you have a variant SmithFraud.
