Jailbreak iPhone 3g 3.0 firmware, compatible with iTunes 8.2.1?
I have an iPhone 3g with 3.0 firmware, and iTunes version 8.2.1. Running OS is Windows Vista.
I would really like to jailbreak, but I have no need for unlocking my iPhone.
Googled my way around the web. The query “how to jailbreak “iPhone 3g 3.0″ “iTunes 8.2.1″ ‘ led to hopeful results. But clicking the links redirected me to stop-spyware-now.com. I looked at the results by manually typing in the address and still no luck.
The closest I get is the “iTunes 8.2.1 Available for Download” thread at modmyi.com. But the posts just fade away without any conclusion. And those that did upgrade and jailbreak successfully weren’t clear on how they jailbreaked, or mentioned Dev-Team’s sno0w tools.
A Dev-Team search brings up their blog, but it seems that every program is an unlocking tool, not jailbreaking.
I wanted to post my results so you know I did do my homework, but I’ve always been bad at math. Any help is appreciated. =)

because u r jailbreaking ur iphone so late u’ve missed previous blogs they’ve posted. go to previous blogs and read about their ‘redsn0w’. redsn0w is THE ultimate tool to jailbreaking your iphone. its very simple and if u have any problems just read the comments below that blog for answers or simple google it.
when they talk about unlocking. it requires a jailbreak. unlocking is another process you have to do after u jailbreak. and if u dont want to unlock ur iphone dont bother reading them.
Make sure u check the dev team once in a while regarding ur jailbreaking tool because iTunes can quickly be updated and ur iphone cant be jailbroken anymore.
so overall, update ur iphone and iTunes. download the ‘redsn0w’ from the dev team blog and follow the steps. simple. and it is fine. no need to unlock. unlocking is different
