Task Manager has been disabled by virus/spyware. explorer.exe does not load during the bootup either.?

eariler i was able to get to explorer by ‘New Task’ in Task Manager>Applications. Now that’s also impossible.I had run spyware doctor, webroot spysweeper, trojan huunter etc. with latest updates before the taskmanager got disabled. Though many virii/malware were removed, Still certain stuff were retained. Brave Sentry was one of the spyware which had initially hijacked the wallpaper,browser etc. which was apparently removed by Hiren Boot CD’s built in McAfee . But now I can’t go to desktop/explorer by any means as Task Manager is disabled. Safe mode also has the same problem. Tried doing a Repair of windows, but it didn’t work either. Even the administrator’s Task manager has been disabled!Any help will be highly appreciated.

My guess is you were trying to do some clean up on your computer. I ran into the same problem. I took it to the IT department at my school and I figured some things out. Your Java may not be updated, or you deleted part of it when you went to add/remove programs. If you go to Yahoo! Type in Java, its free, download it. It should solve your explorer.exe problem at start up. As for the task manager, I would believe that is a virus that you have. Try removing all your music and video downloading programs. Such as media player, WinMX, BearShare, Limewire, you name it. (you’re asking why media player) Media player has streaming, so if you use that to play your music it’s constantly downloading as your listening to your own personal music. Even if you don’t click on anything but your music, it will download. So once you delete all your downloading programs, go ahead and try all your spyware and virus removers again.
