backdoor.irc.flood… keeps coming back…?
i have PC Tools Spyware Doctor as my anti-virus. I have a DSL Connection to the net, so its open most of the time. I do have the XP Firewall set to On.. but yesterday I could not open my Palm Desktop which i use daily for work… did a scan and 25 infections of the backdoor virus came up. I removed the Palm Program but could still not open it upon reinstall. After the 25 infections were cleared i did a scan again and more came up. even w/ the net connection off.
where is this backdoor virus coming from ? I scanned some documents into my computer from my scanner which i havent done in ages… I thought it would be gone after the virus program repaired them. how do I make it go away for good an why does it keep appearing like hourly now it seems. ?? help…
You should do a system restore – IN SAFE MODE, to previous clean system. Then, clean the system thoroughly with antivirus and anti-spyware software. Good software to use are RegCure, Registry Cleaner, Mastrscan, and Xoftspy and spyware terminator. Best antivirus is Kaspersky and BitDefender. also McAffee is good. Good free wares are Avira, Avast, AVG. The windows firewall does ok job, but you need to get something more reliable life ZoneAlarm.
