Are there any FREE antivirus detection/removal programs that are better than registered ones you have to pay?
I have Spy Hunter 3 and it expires tomorrow, I did a free scan of PC Tools Spyware Doctor, and it shows I have more tracking cookies, Adware advertising, Trojan-Downloader. Agent.DUJ, and Backdoor.Agent.ARK that my Spy Hunter version did not detect. I do not wish to purchase another program, but if they are more effective what is the best one to purchase? If free ones are just as good, what is the best one and why? It seems that certain programs that I find can only detect a portion of problems but not all of them. Any legit suggestions? Thanks everyone.

I agree with Alex – AVG8 is really really great. I’ve used it for a couple of years now and have never had any problems with it.
Not only is it easy to use, but the automatic updating thingie ACTUALLY does what it is told.
Although, it is always said that you should run two at the same time as one may not update like the other and so may have gaps. In my experience, this leads to some problems with regards to firewalls, and sometimes you might find that some sites are blocked unnessecarily.
But take a look at the market, see what you like
IMO AVG is the way to go though
Good luck!
