For possible spyware, bad downloaded files from p2p networks, will a system restore clear things up?

I have done it twice, and the results appear good, but has anyone else tried this for viruses, malware, et al, to good effect ?

system restore only “restores” program file and windows directories, so any spyware or viruses in there will be gone, but if it is in ur user files or something, it will stay even after a system restore

i recommend getting a Free Adware, spyware and/or antivirus

i use 3 free programs and i havent had a virus yet….
