How prevalent are keyloggers?

By nature I’m a pretty paranoid person when it comes to certain things…this is just one more of those things. I know that spyware and viruses are running rampant like never before. Can’t do much about that. But how common is it to have a system compromised by a keylogger or something that can capture screen images to steal passwords? I especially worry about it when I’m on other peoples’ computers…I don’t want to log onto any of my accounts because of it.

Am I too paranoid?

Keyloggers are rare to prevent them you need to disable “Remote Assistance” by: Start > Control Panel > System > Remote > Untick the “Allow remote invitations to be sent from this computer” box.

Remote assistance is meant to allow Microsoft support to take control of your computer to help you, but allows less helpful people to take control of you computer as well.
