Winifighter explanation:
Winifighter has pop-ups that will show up in the bottom left and bottom right corners of your screen warning you of a spyware infection. It will also have what looks like a Windows Security Center icon in the docking bar, when in fact it’s a fake. Winifighter appears as if it’s a legitimate spyware scanner, when in reality, it IS the spyware. It is designed to scare you and take your credit card information, which can then be stolen and used to steal your identity at worst. Winifighter will harrass you with alerts and popups about an infected system. It will also record your keystrokes! This means any and all personal information that you type into websites can be recorded and sent to thieves!
How I Deleted Winifighter
You can manually delete the spyware if you know exactly how to work around your computer registry and delete files from the HKEY_LOCAL_USER folder, but I cannot recommend that to those of you who do not consider yourself advanced computer users.
I had a client Matt who was in a pinch for time and I couldn’t afford to risk any errors, so I used an automatic scan using one of my top spyware removal tools. After the scan and deletion, his computer was as good as new, and he’s now protected against all future viruses and spyware. Matt actually had a big name Virus scanner on his computer that completely missed this spyware.
You can’t risk the security and safety of your personal files and credit card numbers. Remove Winifighter and stop letting viruses ruin your life.
