what will happen if i do a system restore?

i think i removed a smitfraud virus with spybot or superantispyware and now i am locked out of some of the system administrator, like control panel and add remove programs. i didn’t run the spyware in safe mode, though. is there anything i can do? will system rstore fix this problem or make it worse? if i do a system restore, will the smitfraud be put back in my computer?
