How do I remove this spyware from my PC?
I have fake “you have spyware” ads repeatedly pop up on my computer, (perhaps not so fake.) I looked up some questionable sounding programs in the add/remove programs, which were “Security Messenger” and “Internet Explorer Secure Plug-in”. The list in the link below says these are both in fact spyware programs.
The trouble is when I go to remove them from the add/remove programs it says, for both of them, “An error occurred while trying to remove x. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove x from the add/remove programs list?”
I don’t know if I trust this message here. I’ve got the freakin’ spyware messages popping up every few minutes, so……???
I’ve already used Ad-aware (fully up-to-date) and I’m still getting the spyware messages.
Thanks.
