AVG anti-virus?

My AVG has in the last couple of days started telling me that I need to put in a licence number (it hasn’t done this before) but I don’t know it and I am no longer in contact with the person who installed it for me. More infections are being found by my spyware doctor now and I am getting worried.

Are there free anti virus programmes or do I need to pay?

What do you recommend to keep my PC safe?

Could be a problem with it.
Remove it first from the system.
Go to www.cnet.com and under downloads you will find it is the number one choice and also free.
Just download again and then run it.
Should solve the problem.
