Adware Removal tool What are the differences??

The question is…… What is the differences in the Anti spyware tools?? Is one better than the other, does one detect stuff the others don’t and vice versa?? I use Lava Soft and have used Spybot/search and destroy, and Windows defender 2…. But would just like to know do they all detect the same stuff or is the scanning engines totally different?……….

I use and recommend both Ad-Aware and Spybot. Ad-Aware is like a virus scanner, it looks at all memory objects, registry entries, and files, looking for patterns in it’s database.

Spybot has a list (53,000 at last count) of specific threats, which it checks for.

Just like antivirus software, there is no single product that removes all threats. That is why a combination is more effective.
