Why does WinMediaCenter play movies better than other player?

I have the latest and the best K-Lite Codec Pack, but it seems whenever i play downloaded DVD rips from the internet, it seems that it plays better on Windows Media Center than on Windows Media player / Windows Media Player Classic.

I’m not saying that watching movies in media player/ media player classic is bad, It’s just that every 5-10 min or so, in the middle mostly, theres some signs of slight blurryness, then it goes away. but on Media Center there’s no blurry lines or anything.

I have vista, HP 17inch LCD WIDESCREEN, AMD athlon 2.6ghz dual core,
Nvidia Integrated Geforce 6150SE nforce 430

I have latest drivers, no spyware or anything.
Any tips would be appreciated.

The k-lite pack installs more codecs than probably need and that can result in some slowing. There isn’t much difference between MCE and WMP, the player is basically the same. Are you using WMP10 or 11? That makes some difference.

Some users have the opposite problem and get better results with WMP than MCE. It might be that the file format you’re playing is just better optimized for MCE. You could try v-lan and compare that to your other players, it natively supports many more codecs than either of the others.

Is anything running in the background that could use up resources while you’re watching the movie? That could also affect the output, even windows update can do this.
