Are files “shlwapi.dll” and “wininet.dll” startups for Windows or are they associated with a VIRUS?
I am trying to delete Antivirus 2009 from y compter (though I haven’t downloaded it it just makes pop-ups and tries to make me download and it still pops up for a week now and its slowing down my computer) and on http://fix-computer-problem.com/rogue-antispyware/antivirus2009/antivirus2009.html says to delete files shlwapi.dll and wininet.dll because they are Antivrus 2009. But it won’t let m and I think they are essential startup files for Windows XP. But the files say they were downloaded on 2006/2007 but the vrirus showed up like a week ago
Please help I don’t know what I need to do.
Should I use malwarebytes or Spyware Hunter?
I havn’t downladed Antivirus 2009 it just pops up and tries to make me go with its program, but I won’t so it keeps popping up and is slowing down my computer.
Thank you for responding.
Plus 2006/2007 was when I got my new fixed computer.
Firstly the program thats saying to delete these is classed
as a rogue program themselves !!!!!!
fix-computer-problem.com….see link…

Secondly …Spyhunter is classed in the same category
which can be seen in this link and you have to Purchase it.

The two programs above offer manual removal
knowing its extremely difficult and of course you
will then be tempted to buy their Crap……….
Thirdly those two files are crucial windows files as you suggest but of course any files can be compromised.
Finally just scroll to this for FREE removal……….
Automated Removal Instructions for Antivirus 2009 using Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware:
What you need to remove is the trojan associated
with Antivirus 2009 which is causing the pop-ups.
Update before scanning and close all applications
and windows while doing so.
