What does CTFMON stand for?
It is a process that appears in Task Manager, and is almost always safe, as it is related to Microsoft Office (some search results imply that spyware registers itself with the same name).
I would like to know if it is an acronym, as www.acronymfinder.com and the Attic do not give a definitive answer for Windows’ use of CTF (thinking it’s ctf Monitor) or CTFMON.
Could you point me to a like that answers this with any authority? Thanks.
Ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input technologies.
