I have CA Internet Security Plus, but I still get unwanted pop ups and what appears to be spyware and Adware.?
How do I remove these unwanted pop ups and spyware? I want to uninstall these things, but I am having trouble doing it through the control panel.
My favorite Free Adware stopper is SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY. or spybot S&D for short.
It is updated frequently and even includes removal of botnet and viruses as well as malware.
ALSO if you use firefox browser you can get a free add-on called ad blocker plus. It pretty much stops all online advertising from displaying, and is easy to use.
If you really want to get serious you can get the other firefox add-on no-script which will stop the browser from loading ANY java or other scripts (activeX etc.) I find it interferes a bit but really it is VERY secure.
