I got a message on my computer saying “application ‘bonjour service’ is trying to establish UDP connection?
Bassically its a window with a title “AVG firewall asks for confirmation”, then underneath the title it says an application is trying to access the internet, then underneath it says (What i put in the main question bit) with remote IP address (and an ip address). then “do you want to allow this commmunication?” and the options “allow for all”, “allow for safe”(which i cant click) “block”. I was just wondering what it means cause ive heard of bonjour before and i think it was somthing about other wireless computers accessing yours but i dunno. can somebody tell me what this means? i recently installed a new anti virus by the way and i didnt have any before, so its likely that i have spyware/Adware ect. (especially considering some of the pages i went on)
Bonjour is typically found with Apple products, most notably, iTunes. Your AVG is acting as a software firewall and is simply asking for confirmation to allow Bonjour to communicate with an external server (the remote ip address you mentioned).
For this specific example, you are probably OK clicking, “allow for all”. For future popups from AVG, you will want to carefully review what AVG is attempting to restrict…especially considering the pages you been going to
Good luck!
