running Windows on a Mac laptop
i’ve owned PCs all of my life and now i’m thinking about getting a Mac to learn how to troubleshoot them because my grandpa has 1 and he often needs help with it and i’m the only person that lives close to him that knows a little about Macs because i use them in school. i want to know it it’s easy to install XP? i have quite a few PC ONLY programs that i would need on the computer.
if i were to run XP on the Mac, would i need anti-virus/anti-spyware software? if so, can i use Windows only software and would it interfere with the Mac firewall and stuff?
Hi, first of buying a Mac is a great idea 
You will need to buy a new Xp license first and the rest of it depends on what kind of apps u need to run for example if u want to setup a dual boot config then u can use boot camp.
You could also buy parallels and install Xp on a virtual machine but games and 3d acceleration requiring apps won’t run.
Oh yeah please know that the Mac does not protect u from viruses, its operating system OS X does, when using Windows on a Mac u will need anti virus software cause its just like using a pc.
