‘Spyware Protect 2009′ infecting Trend Micro? Should I re-install my anti-virus?

The other day, I discovered that somehow the worm Spyware Protect 2009 infected my computer, and so I ran my anti-virus software, Trend Micro Internet Security. While I was waiting for Trend Micro to finish the virus scan, I went online to find manual removal instructions, did them step by step, and then went back to Trend Micro because the scan had finished.

This might sound silly, but now I’m a little unsure on whether to fix the problems found. It could be coincidence, but the amount of problems found matched EXACTLY what the Spyware Protect 2009 worm claimed to find.

Did Spyware Protect 2009 infect my Trend Micro? Has anyone else heard of this happening?

spyware protect 2009 doesn’t even scan a computer. it loads an imitation of scan which is prepared long before the program gets on your computer. don’t trust spywareprotect things for your own good. delete that malware manually: http://www.spywarevoid.com/spyware-protect-2009.html

spyware protect 2009 can’t infect your antivirus. it may block it though.
