Anti Spyware 2009 keeps popping up? Virus?
I’ve gotten this popup twice now, but I do keep x’ing out. It is on my computer though? And how do I make sure it’s not and how do I get rid of it? I’m not too computer savvy so any step by step instructions would be helpful. I have AVG antivirus if that helps.
Ok, i’ve run Malwarebyte’s in full scan, checked my add/remove and it’s not on there, and can seem to find it in my registry keys. Is this just a random popup I can expect to see while on the Internet? My Sister in Law was on myspace two weeks ago, i’m assuming that’s what happened?
Mick: As soon as I asked this, I realized others had also, sorry! I just got scared, I try my best to keep my computer as clean as possible and any threat panics me.
Dunbar: I didn’t realize I was allowing third party popups, even though I have the Google pop up blocker. I fixed that per your instructions.
Antispyware 2009 (Antispyware2009) is a pesky rogue anti-spyware program similar to ProAntispyware 2009 and XP Antispyware2009. Antispyware 2009 is presented as a program that has the ability to detect and remove parasites from your computer but we have verified that it does not do this. Antispyware 2009 does absolutely nothing except waste your time.
You may notice Antispyware 2009 installed on your system and realize that you did not authorize the installation. Usually this happens from a Trojan infection such as Zlob or Vundo when a fake video codec or malicious file is downloaded from the internet. You may also notice multiple popup alerts plastered on your screen from Antispyware 2009. These are also fake. To resolve all of these issues it is best to completely remove Antispyware2009 from your computer.
