what is the best AV &SPY/Adware?
i am currently using sophos AV, and am wondering what other people use.
For Spy/Adware I use spybot S&D, spywareblaster and ad-aware SE personal
Personally, These are my top three picks for AV:
1. Norton 360 (Everything you will need.)
2. Kaspersky Internet Security
3. BitDefender
Each of these products have great features. From Anti-Spyware to amazing detection rates. I see them each getting consistantly good reviews from the public. I highly reccomend Norton 360. But, If you insist that it uses to many resources go for Kaspersky or BitDefender.
Again these All have Sky-High Detection Ratings.
If you are looking at freeware. Then there are only really, two decent softwares out there. That have GOOD Detection Ratings & Features.
1. Avira AntiVir
2. Avast! Home Edition
Avira consistantly scores 95%+ in detection ratings test, even in an AV-Comparatives test! Avast! is great, it 85%+ Detection rates, but, what makes it nice is it has every shield that you can possibly think of. Web Shield, P2P Shield etc.
But, what neither one of these freeware’s have is a Firewall. Firewalls are probably one of the most essential tools to safety. Yes, even more essential than the AntiVirus. Firewalls, prevent anything from getting out or into your computer….
What I reccomend, (if you have an AV without a Firewall), is Comodo Personal Firewall PRO. Its free, but its definitly just as good as a Paid version.
As for Anti-Malware/Spyware:
You have the Real Time Protection Of Spybot. The Scanning of Ad-Aware. The Blocking of SpyBlaster. Now you just need the unique scanning features of A-Squared Free.
A-Squared Free is a great scanner. It nearly finds every trace there is. It acts as an on-demand scanner pretty much. But it is extremely thorough.
