Are viruses/Adware/etc. common on BitTorrent sites?

I don’t want any crappy “Don’t use it” answers or people pretending to be the police. I never said this question was for me anyway. I’m asking because my friend wanted to know. Are they common?

Yes ,every 10 torrent there is about 4 that is a virus. Tell your friend to ask a few question on the torrent first. If other people say they downloaded it and it is a virus dont download it. Also Tell him to read the comments that is left by people on the torrent site. And most of the time sumthing at the size of 50kb is mostly a virus.
