Does Google drop Adware from their website?

I visited Google yesterday to check out Chrome. Since then I’m getting pop-up windows open every time I navigate in IE. Ads for everything!

No the reason you are having problems is because you are using IE. IE is probably the LEAST secure browser in the world chances are you installed a nasty ActiveX control. You should scan your computer for spyware and adware with something like spybot search and destroy or Malwarebytes Anti-malware and your Av software for good measure. Then go and get Google Chrome or firefox so you don’t have to worry so much.
