How do I get rid of these stupid Spyware Protect 2009 alerts on my computer for free??

I keep getting these boxes popping up on my computer from Spyware Protect 2009 saying that my computer is being attacked. I tried to download spyware doctor to remove the infections on my computer but it says I need to purchase a registration key to do it!!!! How do I get rid of this thing for free???
